Sites and Mr. Vegas

I really wanted to wait to post this but unfortunately I will not have a WiFi connection until I get on the Greyhound on Thursday so I figured I would get this up.
We toured today! We did one whole side of the strip. We saw so much. Hooters was the first place we hit, it was actually really nice we both really liked it there and the pool was really nice. We went to the coke store and got our picture taken with a polar bear. It was actually kind of creepy. It was someone in a costume but the mouth moved and so did the eyes. Lol Paul called it creepy and it walked away from us and then started throwing stuff at me haha it was really funny.
We saw Elvis' and Star Wars impersonators, Austin Powers and a Bowie who was trying to pay his phone bill, lol Vegas is definately something all it's own.
We went to the Flamingo where we got lost for a good hour in the gardens and pool and ended up on the roof which we weren't supposed to be in. We went to Paris, Harrah's, Oshea's Bar, Treasure Island where we went to an Oxygen bar and for $20 we got 20 minutes of oxygen, a back massage, scalp massage and a vodka monster drink, it was so relaxing and refreshing. We went to the Mirage, the Forum Shops in Caesars Palace, the Venetian which is absolutely huge and you feel like you are in Italy. It was like it's own country and it has these huge cathedral ceilings with paintings on it like the Sisteenth Chapel. We did this for 8 hours! I was hoping to have a nap when we got back but we had to get ready before to go so Wayne.
Mr. Vegas himself was awesome! He is retiring in April, he has been performing for 50 years. He has performed with Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Old Blue Eyes and been on television shows such as I Love Lucy. He is the last of the original performers still (alive) and perfroming in Vegas. The show was almost a tribute to all his fellow performers and it actually brought me to tears at some points. He sang classics like Viva Las Vegas and Danke Shen which was actually given to him by Bobby Darren. Mr.Newton has had 135 albums and 17 top 10 hits. Somebody actually threw their underwear up on stage, it was classic.
The band was awesome. They were all dressed in white and the back up singers danced and the drummer was from Toronto!!! The show was classic and I am so happy I got to see a legend like such as him perform, it's almost an honour.
Well I am exhausted and I think my cold just got worse, so I am off to sleep.

Our Arrival!

So we arrived in Vegas, it took us 20 hours but we made it. By the time we got to our terminal at Pearson it had taken us 3 hours to check in and go through customs only to find out that our flight was delayed and that we would be missing our connecting flight from Washington to Houston.  And, to top it off we ended up on the smallest plane ever! A 50 seater called JAZZ and bumpy as hell; and for those of you who know me or have travelled with me you know I hate flying so this wasn't my cup of tea.
When the plane landed I was off that plane so fast lol I just wasn't to get off.  When we got into the airport my name was being announced through the terminal.  We were told that we had in fact missed our connecting flight but it had been taken care of.  We just had to go to the other building and go to Check-In and there was a surprise in store for us that would make us really happy.
So we walked through the airport and it was quite a walk to get to the other building but the airport was a sight itself.  Some parts had huge floor to ceiling windows and you could look out onto the runway and planes and in some area's you could even see the George Washington Monument (but I couldn't get a good picture).  The ceilings are huge cathedral like ceilings lined with yellow girders and a huge American Flag hanging down the middle, it was really pretty.
We get to Check-In and we are sent to another airline.  We get over to that airline and we were rudely sent back to the one we had just come from.  So we get back to that airline and we are told we have to get our missed flights unchecked so we can be registered.  After getting unchecked and getting back to the airline we are told that our flights still haven't been unchecked.  At this point I am getting pissed but the lady behind the counter, Charlene, didn't want to send us anywhere else and had already gotten a phone call about our arrival. So within 20 minutes and a few phone calls we had two FIRST CLASS TICKETS TO VEGAS with a stop over in Denver.
We get on the plane completely stoked.  By the time we sat down we had pillows and blankets and juice or water and then our dinner order was taken Paul had a chicken salad dinner which was huge and I had a huge plate of pasta, each meal came with a yummy brownie for desert.  Usually we don't even get fed on our flights so this was a major treat.  Plus drinks are free!!! It was heaven.
Now I don't really remember our time at the Denver airport.  All I remember is waking up in the terminal curled up to some woman.  According to Paul I passed out and I slowly but eventually ended up just putting my head on her shoulder.  She told him she had to go to the bathroom so one held my head while the other put a carry on under my head to prop me up, I didn't budge.  Then when she came back she put my head back on her shoulder and I snuggled right into her and put my arm around her lol.  When I woke up I was disoriented and when I lifted my head in confusion she put her hand on my head and said its okay dear go back to sleep.  And I slept all the way to Vegas.
By the time we got to Vegas we were exhausted considering we were 4 hours behind our original schedule, only to find my luggage was not there.  I said Fuck It, I don't care!  I was so tired I just wanted to get to the resort. But, with luck being on our side that day my luggage ended up being only a few gates down.
With our luggage in hand we grabbed a cab and headed to the Tropicana. Love it. Its really pretty here.  And the people are great.  We got lost trying to find our room and a cleaning lady took us almost all the way to our room and was super stoked about us staying here.
We ended up going out. We first went to the Excalibur which is a huge castle and me its princess lol.  We then went to the LUXOR! Wow!  I love it there.  I want to go there for my 30th so if you want to come start saving.  It's a huge pyramid with it's own city inside of it, it was amazing.  We were really hungry and the only thing open was McDonalds so I walk up to the counter and say "please don't judge me by the food I am about to order.  I would like a quarter pounder and McNuggets.  Man it was so good.  While enjoying our grease we met.  Ben who is currently living in Vegas,  Katie and Liz who live in San Diego who have offered me a place to stay before I go to LA so I am super stoked.  We partied with them all night at New York New York.
After 30 hours of travel and partying we get back to our room at 5am but of course me liking to play tourist is up 4 hours later and ready to go.
We went to the MGM Grand and had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and then went to go see the Lions in the Lion Exhibit.
By the time we got back to our resort I was not feeling well.  Ending up with a sore throat and a stuffy nose it was a chill night and we ended up staying in.
Now feeling a lot better we are sight seeing today and finishing our day off with a Wayne Newton show and Old Vegas.  Yup thats right, Wayne Newton.  I know your all jealous!
